Sustainability House step two retrofit

EPA photo of a computerized or programmable thermostat

Well, making some progress at the Sustainability House. It looks like we now have two tenants: the first was our own student newspaper and sustainability journal Hawk and Handsaw. The second is MOFGA's Organic Certification program, who will be moving in as soon as we can get a lease signed.

These guys should make good neighbors for each other, which is what we're hoping for.

The Hallowell company of Hermon, Maine has very kindly agreed to provide one of their state-of-the-art heat pumps, which means, oddly, I'm looking for a different site to install a programmable thermostat, and to record the installation with photos, possibly a video.

(Explained fully at the Sustainability House site.)

Email me at mwomersley@unity.edu if you live in the Unity area and would like a new energy-saving thermostat, and don't mind us making a movie of the installation.

I'm sorry to have to say that the number of spam comment postings has required that we turn off anonymous comment posting. There's been a massive boom in what seems like computer-automated spam comments with links to web pages that advertise cheap, nasty, bad-for-you products, mostly cigarettes.

From now on, you'll have to be a registered user to comment on this blog.
