Last year's major crop failure was in Australia: the wheat crop. It and high oil prices drove grain prices to double or more, which had terrible knock-on effects in food markets in developing nations.
This year we had the mid-western floods, but the UK currently seems the epicenter of failed crops. The Guardian has a sequence of photos here.
Note the accompanying story. The UK media and public connect these events to climate change much more easily than do Americans with similar events.

I'm sorry to have to say that the number of spam comment postings has required that we turn off anonymous comment posting. There's been a massive boom in what seems like computer-automated spam comments with links to web pages that advertise cheap, nasty, bad-for-you products, mostly cigarettes.
